The First Late-Night Friday at Lenuci’s

The Zagreb public immediately discovered the lively and interesting Late Night Friday at Lenuci’s Horseshoe. For the three hundred or so visitors of the action that lasted from 7 to 10 in the evening at the exhibition Miroslav Kraljević – A Retrospective, the Modern Gallery brought to life the atmosphere of a real painter’s studio. To the great interest of the public and with expert supervision from teachers, students of the Academy of Fine Arts made studies and copied Kraljević’s masterpieces.

For the students’ assignment, and to the delight of all, alongside Self-Portrait with Dog,  a costumed model and an endlessly patient hound posed. We are most grateful for the collaboration of the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb, costume designer Marija Šarić Ban, artists Frane Rogić and Robert Šimrak, and Luna, German shepherd. The student workshop Copy Paste will be held in the Modern Gallery on Fridays, and all the works will be exhibited at the end of the series.

Next Late Night Friday at Lenuci’s, an action put on jointly by the Archaeological Museum, the Art Pavilion and the Modern Gallery, is scheduled for March 28, 2014.
