Josip Trostmann exhibition opened

Those present for the occasion were welcomed by Biserka Rauter Plančić, as both director of the Modern Gallery and curator for the Trostmann show. Representatives of the city of Zagreb and the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Croatia were present at the opening, and among the many invitees were friends of the artist from Dubrovnik.  Those who were unable to come, like Maestro Đelo Jusić, Trostmann’s school chum, sent him messages of congratulations.  And when all the special guests had departed, music diva Tereza Kesovija, delighted with the exhibition of the artist, with whom she shares a love and a passion for Dubrovnik, sang him Edith Piaf’s La vie en rose. The painter, who can only seldom and with difficulty be persuaded to leave his own town, will be sure long to remember this special evening for, on top of everything else, the intimate meeting with his friends on the balcony of the Modern Gallery with its view onto Zrinjevac
