International Museum Day in the Modern Gallery

On Sunday, May 18, the Modern Gallery is celebrating International Museum Day.

Entry will be free (from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.). Visitors will be able to look around the retrospective Josip Trostmann exhibition Let There Be Light, as well as the permanent display of the Modern Gallery (Croatian fine arts since the 1920s).

On International Museum Day we will also bring to a close the 19th Museum Educational Action Find Connections in the MG and invite you to a fun-filled and playful children’s festivity.


11.15 am – The performance Doll

To be put on by the theatrical company MIST: Marko Pavičić and Milica Jurić

11.45 a.m. – Workshop – Fold your own origami

Inspired by the painting Japanica of the painter Josip Trostmann, children will have the opportunity to get to know the world of origami and learn to fold various animals out of paper.

1 p.m. – Drawing the winners of the Modern Gallery raffle

FIND CONNECTIONS IN THE MG on the occasion of the 19th Museum Educational Action, of the Croatian Museum Association.

Three of the luckiest participants of the Action that took part in the last month in the jolly guided tours and art workshops, and children who are going to visit us on Sunday, will have the chance to get valuable prizes:

free entry and guided tours for their class or kindergarten group and a puzzle with a motif from the holdings of the MG: Edo Murtić: Highway.

1.15 p.m. – Museum Game Find the Work

In the museum display there will be leaflets with a task that is also a game. Have fun looking for and discovering the works from our riddles…
