10 schools – 10 artists
The museum education campaign “Ten Schools – Ten Artists” was launched in 2005 by senior curator at the Modern Gallery Ivana Rončević Elezović. Eleven years running, the project has brought together pupils and art history teachers from ten Croatian high schools. This year’s programme is connected to the Ernst Barlach and Käthe Kollwitz exhibition Beyond the Borders of Existence, which the Ernst Barlach Gesellschaft Hamburg has organised in collaboration with the Modern Gallery of Zagreb. Each school has considered a set theme related to the work of these two artists of German Expressionism.
The Ernst Barlach and Käthe Kollwitz Beyond the Borders of Existence exhibition in the Modern Gallery will last until November 29, 2015.
The project brings together some 30 students and 10 teachers from the following schools: Varaždin Second High School; Rijeka First High School; Dubrovnik High School; Marko Marulić Fourth High School of Split; Osijek First High School; Pula High School; Vukovar High School; Valpovo Secondary School and two high schools from Zagreb, the Fifth and the Orthodox High.
This year the pupil presentations and workshops on behalf of the Modern Gallery are being run by the trainees Matija Fabijanić, Iris Poljan and Marija Jurkić.
