Presented up to March this year in the Vienna Belevedere, the exhibition Klimt is not the End – New Horizons in Central Europe can, from September 20, be viewed in BOZAR, the Brussels fine arts centre. The choice of eighty masterly artworks that we borrowed for the occasion from some of the most important European museums, like the Belvedere, the Albertine, the Musée d’Orsay included oils on canvas, sculptures, drawings and posters, created between 1914 and 1938/39. Along with works of Gustav Klimt, Oskar Kokoschka, Max Oppenheim and other world known artists, two pictures from the Modern Gallery were put on show: Self-Portrait in Bar by Milivoj Uzelac and The Cynic by Vilko Gecan.
The exhibition was organised to mark the upcoming Austrian European Union presidency next year, and will be on show in BOZAR until January 21, 2019.
