High School Pupils-Museum Guides in the Modern Gallery on Museums’ Long Night, 2015
On Friday, January 30, on the occasion of the cultural event Long Night of Museums, pupils of the 5th High School in Zagreb showed visitors to the Modern Gallery around the exhibition of the museum’s new acquisitions and provided interpretations of some of the masterpieces of the nation’s modern art. The Modern Gallery project High School Pupils-Museum Guides stemmed from the project Ten Schools – Ten Artists that was devised ten years ago by Modern Gallery curator Ivana Rončević Elezović. Unlike last year’s Long Night, when it was presented in just the home building, the project this year included thirty museums and high schools in Zagreb. Not only did the many visitors make use of the guides’ services, but their own teacher Vesna Mišljenovič came to listen to them as well. Some of the more interesting details from the lives of the greatest artists of Croatian Modernism and the history of the works on show were told to the visitors by curator Željko Marciuš.
