An Art Educational Programme of the Modern Gallery Occasioned by the Dalibor Parać Exhibition

Marking the Dalibor Parać Modern Gallery Donation exhibition, in May and June the Gallery is organising a series of art educational workshops.
The number of participants of the art education workshops of the MG is limited to a maximum of 15 so please give us notice of your arrival by telephone 091 768 7286 (Iris Poljan, leader of the workshops) or 60 410 55 (MG ticket office, Anamarija Kovač) or by email: modernagalerija.edukacija@gmail.com

A charge of 20 kuna is made for participation in the workshops but for children up to 7 there is no charge.

Programme:
1. Painting workshop Excursion
Saturday, May 20, 2017, 11 30 am to 1 pm
Join us at a painting workshop in which we shall follow the steps of Dalibor Parać. Through explorations of his painting we shall discover the diversity of approaches to the depiction of a landscape. The creative assignment is to express the experience of an excursion into nature in the tempera technique.

2. Painting Workshop Botanical Garden
Sunday, May 21, 2017, 11 30 am to 1 pm
At this painting workshop, prompted by the depictions of nature in the painting of Dalibor Parać, we shall explore the flora of Zagreb’s Botanical Garden. Through the creative task we shall discover what plants the garden keeps, all the colours they might be, and how to show them in terms of painting.

3. Collage workshop Variegated Society
Friday, May 26, 2017, 5 pm to 6 30 pm
An art workshop at which, prompted by the painting of Dalibor Parać and his depiction of figures, we shall study surfaces and shapes. By expression in the collage technique, we shall simplify the motif of people into forms and think up how to create a variegated and playful composition.

4. Mobile workshop, Moonshine
Sunday, May 28, 2017, 11 30 am to 1 pm
In his painting, Dalibor Parać shows different times of day and their visual specifics. Going around the set up of the exhibition we embark on a visual adventure exploring the possibilities of depicting different times of day. How to show the moonshine in the sculptural technique of the mobile will be revealed in the creative task.

5. Painting workshop, Spring Day
Saturday, June 3, 2017, 11 30 am to 1 pm
Join us at a painting workshop at which we shall visually explore the painting of Dalibor Parać Green Meadow. After we have discussed the visual elements of the work we shall visit the garden in nearby Strossmayerov trg, in order to experience the nature visually. We shall compare the visual elements of the work with the contents of the park and carry out the creative task in the park according to our observation. Note: parental consent or accompaniment is needed for the visit to the park.

6. Stained glass workshop, Between
Sunday, June 4, 2017, 11 30 am to 1 pm
At this workshop we shall investigate how the painter Dalibor Parać approaches the empty spaces between the visual elements of the work. Prompted by visual contents, we shall learn about the stained glass technique. In this creative task we shall create stained glass in the collage technique.
Technique: collage paper – black hammer paper and transparent coloured paper

7. Art workshop, Shadows
Saturday, June 10, 2017, 11 30 am to 1 pm
Join us at a workshop in which we shall find out how the painter Dalibor Parać addresses the subject of cypress trees. By talking about the subject and visual discovery of his works we shall learn about outlines, surfaces and shadows. The creative task is to devise and express the subject of the shadow.

8. Sculptural workshop, Medal
Sunday, June 11, 2017, 11 30 am to 1 pm
The artist Dalibor Parać did not only painting but also medals. What medals are, what they look like and what they show, all this we shall discover through conversation and exploration of the medals at the exhibition. Prompted by his medal-making we shall learn about the sculptural technique of the relief and discuss the possible motifs or subjects of medals. The creative task is to devise a motif and create a relief medal.
