International Museum Day at the Modern Gallery – May 18, 2016.
It is with great pleasure we invite you on Wednesday, May 18, between 11 am and 7 pm, on the occasion of International Museum Day, to visit the Modern Gallery, where, along with the second floor of the permanent exhibition of ‘Croatian Fine Arts of the 19th to 21st century”, you will be able to view the critical retrospective of the painter Dalibor Jelavić, painter of expressive gesture and powerful colourism, whose oeuvre constitutes a striking, indeed, towering, feature of contemporary Croatian abstract and concrete art. You can also take part in the rich art education programme of the MG and find lavish and study publications of the Modern Gallery at very reasonable prices.
12 to 1 30 – Art workshop ‘Construction of landscape’, assemblage workshop, led by Iris Poljan
2 to 3 – guided tour around the Dalibor Jelavic exhibition, led by Željko Marciuš, senior curator of the MG
5 to 6 30 – Art workshop ‘Expressive Landscape’, a painting workshop, led by Iris Poljan and Dalibor Jelavić, artist
During International Museum Day, guided tours will be made around the permanent exhibition, according to notice. The programme is free of charge.
At the sales counter of the Modern Gallery (from April 18 to May 18) a programme booklet can be bought for 10 kuna that permits participation during this period without further charge in the many art education programmes in some seventy museums, galleries and other cultural establishments all around Croatia.
