Modern and Avant-Garde Art Workshops in the Modern Gallery for Teenagers and Adults
All those who are interested are invited to join us in the Modern Gallery for an art programme for teenagers and adults.
Look around the exhibition The Kallay Collection and join us in visual research and discussion about modern and avant-garde artworks. Then, prompted by the artistic ideas and concepts, express yourself in various different artistic techniques.
1. Dadaist art workshop
This art workshop will explore artworks inspired by the approach of Dada. What Dada art is, how words can be used expressively in visual art and how collages inspired by Dadaist poetry can be produced will be explored in a creative assignment.
Teen group: Sunday, February 25, 11.15 am to 12.15 pm
Adult group: Sunday, February 25, 12.45 pm to 1.45 pm
2. Assemblage art workshop.
Work of the artist Boris Demur will set our thoughts going about the assemblage technique. What the characteristics of assemblage making and what art and what non-art materials can be used visually in so doing will be investigated. The creative assignment is guided by the thinking of Jasper Jones, which we will discover, consider and put into practice at the workshop.
It is recommended to bring to the workshop objects that you find or have at home but do not need or don’t use (bits of wood, cloth, plastic implements, used art materials, cardboard and so on).
Teen group: Friday, March 2 from 4 pm to 5 pm
Adult group: Friday, March 2, from 5.30 pm to 6.30 pm
3. Comic strip drawing art workshop
The comic strip of Croatian artist Andrija Maurovič will take us into this topic. Prompted by his work, we shall talk about the ways of drawing comic strips, about how the father of the art in Croatia addressed the presentation of his idea and in what way this particular comic strip is particular. The creative assignment is to devise a comic strip on a set theme.
Technique: black marker
Teen group: Saturday, March 10, 11.15 am to 12.15 pm
Adult group: Saturday, March 10, 12.45 pm to 1.45 pm
