Giandomenico Romanelli lecture in the Modern Gallery
On Tuesday, June 30, in the oval room of the Modern Gallery, a lecture to accompany the exhibition The Demon of Modernity, Visionary Painters at the Dawn of the Last Century will be given by Giandomenico Romanelli, distinguished Italian art theorist who created the project. Professor Romanelli will talk about the exhibition and the ideas that guided him in its conception. He will also critically discuss the artistic creations of the fin de siècle with particular reference to the material shown in the exhibition.

Giandomenico Romanelli (Venice, 1945)
From 1979, he was director of the Venice Municipal Museums, director of the Office for the Cultural Heritage and Cultural Activities of the City of Venice. From its foundation in 2008 until 2011 he was director of the Foundation of Municipal Museums of Venice. He is an active member of the Veneto Institute for Science, Literature and Art (Istituto Veneto di Scienze, Lettere ed Arti), president of the academic committee of the Buonconsiglio Palace and the provincial museums of Trento, as well as a member of the Academic Committee of the International Andrea Palladio Centre of Vicenzo (Centro internazionale di studi di architettura Andrea Palladio – CISA).
