The exhibition of the painter Dalibor Parać “The Modern Gallery Donation” opened
In the grand first floor of the Vranyczany Palace on May 18, the exhibition of the painter Dalibor Parać “The Modern Gallery Donation” was opened. On this occasion Modern Gallery director Biserka Rauter Plančić addressed the many guests at the vernissage, fellow museum professionals, artists and friends, saying: “we are presenting an exhibition that with its high level of art and very considerable scope unites in the best possible way all the missions of the MG as national museum of the fine arts from the 19th century onwards. We are proud that precisely on International Museum Day we can present to the public the biggest individual donation to the museum with which its holdings were last year enriched by 155 oils on canvas, drawings, watercolours, and with no fewer than 213 bronze medals, including their plaster originals”, and concluded: “At the end, freely and with pride, on the behalf of the Modern Gallery, and I hope to the honour of our profession, I conclude that with this donation and this exhibition the work of Dalibor Parać – painter of the painting – has been contextualised effectively and in the proper place. for… in this country there is no better place than the Modern Gallery for Parać’s series of enchanted landscapes, reminiscences of the South, to be joined to and united with the other great masters, the painter’s models, pupils and colleagues, kindred spirits, such as Ignjat Job, Emanuel Vidović, Jerolime Miše, Oton Postružnik, Ivo Dulčić and Frane Šimunović, great names with whom Dalibor Parać undoubtedly shares both artistic fame and the highest position in the Croatian painting of the last century.” The artist’s work and the exhibition were presented by curator Iva Körbler.
The Dalibor Parać exhibition can be viewed in the Modern Gallery until June 18, 2017.
