The Lukša Peko Exhibition Terra Incognita Opens in the Josip Račić Studio of the Modern Gallery

On Saturday, May 30, the Lukša Peko exhibition Terra Incognita was opened in the Josip Račić Studio of the Modern Gallery.  The exhibition of this Dubrovnik painter comprises a selection of eighteen acrylics on canvas from the painting cycle the artist calls Terra Incognita.

On this occasion, the many invitees were welcomed on behalf of the Modern Gallery by senior curator Lada Bošnjak Velagić and by Marin Ivanović from Dubrovnik.  The person best-versed in Peko’s work, Marin Ivanović also wrote the preface to the catalogue, in which he familiarised the public with the vehement painting of the prolific master of the art of painting, a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb, Lukša Peko.

The exhibition was produced with the support of and in cooperation with the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of Mostar University, the Aluminij Gallery of Mostar, the City of Dubrovnik and the main sponsor of the Modern Gallery, Privredna banka Zagreb.

The exhibition will be on view until May 15, 2016.
