Great figures of Croatian Modernism from the collection of the Modern Gallery in Zagreb in the Art Gallery of the King Tomislav Foundation, Čapljina

In the Art Gallery of the King Tomislav Foundation, Čapljina, on Saturday March 24, 2018, the exhibition Great Figures of Croatian Modernism will be opened. The exhibition will present 16 outstanding Croatian artists and 48 selected works from the 1920s and 1930s on loan from the holdings of the Modern Gallery in Zagreb.

“To extract from the permanent display of the Modern Gallery works of some of the greats of Croatian visual Modernism, and, even if for only a month, to loan them for an exhibition outside their domicile in the Vranyczany Palace, is a rather complex undertaking, in terms of organisation and financing. But at the same time it is a great treat that the Zagreb Modern Gallery and the Čapljina King Tomislav Foundation once again bestow on the public brilliant visual festivities, in honour of the establishments, and for the benefit of Croatian culture and art. We would like it to be like this in the future too, for the satisfaction of all art lovers and for the encouragement of the contemporary generation of those who will continue it”.
