Tonko Smokvina, “Nemir”

On Tuesday, October 25, at 7 pm, the exhibition Unease by the Dubrovnik artist Tonko Smokvina will open in the Josip Račić Studio of the Modern Gallery. The exhibition of this artist of the younger generation (born 1980) covers acrylics on canvas, characterised by the balance of reduction and abstraction, vivid colouring and the personal associations related with them. An interpretation of the works is given by Dr Antun Karaman and art historian Marin Ivanović, who is also the curator.
The Unease cycle was presented for the first time last year in the Dubrovnik Sebastian Gallery. Supplemented with new pieces, this year it was presented in the Metković Municipal Culture Centre.
The exhibition in the Josip Račić Studio can be viewed until November 7, 2016
